Yorkshire Azure User Group, Yorkshire DevOps and AWS Leeds are joining forces for a summer social and panel evening at The Brew Society on Thursday 16 July 2026. The event also marks the Yorkshire Azure User Group's 4th birthday. It's a chance to hear from seven practitioners working across cloud, DevOps, data engineering and software deployment, then spend the rest of the evening talking to people who do the same kind of work you do.
The format is a panel discussion followed by open networking. Seven speakers are confirmed, drawn from Microsoft, CGI, Accenture, CO-OP and the independent community. Topics span cloud computing, DevOps practice and AI, reflecting the combined interests of the three organising groups. Doors open at 6:00 PM and the event runs until 8:00 PM BST. Hippo Digital is the venue partner; Ada Meher, Digital Endeavours, CGI and the Financial Conduct Authority are sponsors.
The event brings together three of the most active tech meetup communities in Leeds. Yorkshire DevOps has been running regular events for several years, covering infrastructure, deployment pipelines and platform engineering. Yorkshire Azure User Group focuses on Microsoft Azure and adjacent cloud technologies. AWS Leeds covers the Amazon Web Services ecosystem. All three operate on a free-to-attend basis and between them represent a significant slice of the Leeds cloud and DevOps practitioner community. Pulling all three groups into a single room for a summer social is a first for this year, and 49 attendees are already signed up across the two hosting groups on Meetup.
Why attend
Seven named practitioners from Microsoft, CGI, Accenture, CO-OP and the independent community are on the panel. That's a broad cross-section of how cloud and DevOps work gets done in practice, from a junior automation engineer to a group data engineering lead to a cloud solutions architect.
The social format means the panel is a starting point, not the whole evening. If you work in cloud, infrastructure or platform engineering in Leeds and want to meet people from the other two communities you haven't crossed paths with yet, this is a straightforward opportunity. Free to attend, city centre location, two hours.
