Three of Leeds's most active tech communities — Yorkshire Azure User Group, Yorkshire DevOps and AWS Leeds — are joining forces on Thursday 16 July 2026 for a summer social and panel evening at The Brew Society on Aire Street. The event also marks the Yorkshire Azure User Group's 4th birthday.

The panel brings together seven named speakers from Microsoft, CGI, Accenture, Community Stack and the independent community. Topics span cloud computing, DevOps practice and community building across the Leeds tech scene. The format is a network social with a structured panel discussion, running from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM BST. Around 40 attendees are expected, drawn from at least two of the three organising groups.

Sponsors for the evening include Ada Meher (platinum recruitment sponsor), Digital Endeavours (platinum sponsor), CGI and the Financial Conduct Authority as event partners. Hippo Digital is the venue partner, supporting the booking at The Brew Society.

Yorkshire DevOps is the primary organising group on Meetup, operating under the Community Stack umbrella. The group has been running regular meetups in Leeds for several years, covering infrastructure, deployment pipelines, cloud platforms and the engineering practices that sit around them. It shares an audience with Yorkshire Azure User Group and AWS Leeds, and the three communities have collaborated on events before. This summer social is the largest joint outing to date in 2026, following what the organisers describe as a successful year across all three groups.

The Brew Society at 26 Aire Street, LS1 4HT is a city-centre venue a short walk from Leeds railway station, making it straightforward to reach after work.

Why attend

Seven speakers from Microsoft, CGI, Accenture and the independent community are on the panel, covering cloud architecture, software deployments and technical advisory. That is a rare concentration of practitioner experience in one room on a weekday evening in Leeds.

Beyond the panel, this is a genuine social: three communities in the same space, which means a wider mix of people than a single-group meetup typically draws. If you work in cloud, DevOps or platform engineering in Yorkshire and want to meet others doing the same, this is a practical evening to be at.
