RevenueCat Shipaton IRL at Lloyds Banking Group

Leeds Mobile is teaming up with RevenueCat to host an official Shipaton IRL event at Lloyds Banking Group's Wellington Place offices on Wednesday 30 July. Shipaton is RevenueCat's global mobile hackathon for people who actually ship — and this evening brings the local leg of it to Leeds, with five builders presenting what they made during the challenge.

Five talks are on the bill. Nathan Lawlor, Senior iOS Engineer at Jaguar Land Rover and co-author of the Swift Cookbook (Third Edition), covers how he took a social confidence app from idea to App Store in 60 days. Peter Koraca — product designer with credits at Spotify, Meta, the NHS and the BBC — presents Snop, a local-first iPhone app for capturing AI prompts while out running, then using them back on a Mac. Stephen Ingham, a full-stack freelancer and Leeds Mobile co-organiser, talks through building Voneo, a peer-to-peer video chat app he made to understand low-level networking and WebRTC from scratch. Asta Bevainyté, a software engineer with 20 years of IT experience and a specialism in native Android, presents Purr Trail — a game that uses haptics as a core mechanic rather than simple feedback, with nine levels and RevenueCat monetisation baked in. Manu Kenchappa Junjanna, a Senior Flutter developer with six-plus years of experience, rounds things off with FitLog AI, a cross-platform fitness app that uses AI to recognise and log workouts in real time.

Matt Heaney from RevenueCat will host the community talks segment. The evening also marks Leeds Mobile's third birthday, with Luke Stringer delivering a year-in-review and birthday cupcakes on offer.

Leeds Mobile has been running since 2023 and is one of the more active mobile-focused meetup groups in the north of England. It covers iOS, Android and cross-platform development, and draws engineers, designers and indie app makers from across the city and surrounding area.

Why attend

Five real projects, shipped under Shipaton conditions, presented by the people who built them. You will hear honest accounts of what worked and what did not — monetisation via RevenueCat, haptic design, Flutter AI integration, WebRTC networking and indie app marketing are all on the table.

The format is informal. Food and networking run from 17:30, talks start at 18:00, and there are optional drinks at a nearby pub afterwards. It is free to attend and hosted inside Lloyds Banking Group's Wellington Place offices, which puts you in the middle of Leeds city centre.
