LeedsPHP's 2026 Summer Social is a no-agenda, no-slides evening for PHP developers and web engineers in Leeds. The group meets at Trinity Kitchen on 15 July from 17:30, with some sharing pizzas provided at the start. Beyond that, attendees are on their own for food and drinks — Trinity Kitchen has plenty of options on site.
This is a networking-only event. There are no talks, no lightning rounds, no structure. The point is to meet other PHP developers in the city in a relaxed setting. The organiser asks everyone to follow the LeedsPHP code of conduct, which is published at leedsphp.org/about. Registration has moved from Meetup to Luma — sign up at luma.com/vv76ibrk to get a place.
LeedsPHP is one of Leeds's longer-running language-specific meetups, bringing together developers who work with PHP professionally or as a side interest. The group runs both technical talk evenings and occasional socials like this one. The summer social format drops the usual speaker format in favour of conversation, which suits people who want to show up without having done any homework first.
The event is hosted by Irene and sponsored by Accentrix. Trinity Kitchen sits inside the Trinity Leeds shopping centre on Albion Street, a short walk from Leeds City Station — easy to reach whether you're coming from the office or from further afield. Doors open at 17:30 and the evening wraps at 19:30.
Why attend
If you work with PHP in Leeds and haven't yet met many others who do, this is a low-pressure way to fix that. No slides, no prep required — just turn up from 17:30 and there'll be pizza to break the ice.
The crowd will be PHP developers and web engineers from across the Leeds area. Two hours is enough time to have a few decent conversations without the evening dragging. Accentrix is sponsoring, so the pizza is free. Anything else you want to eat or drink, you pay for yourself at one of the Trinity Kitchen vendors.
