Context driven AI Agents

Leeds Data Science Meetup's July 2026 session centres on a single talk: Context Driven AI Agents, delivered by Shubhangi Goyal, Data & AI Lead with nearly a decade of experience across data science, strategy and AI.

The talk covers how agents are built to use dynamic context when executing complex tasks. Shubhangi will move beyond single-prompt interactions into context engineering — the discipline of managing memory, tools and tasks so that an agent can adapt its behaviour rather than just follow a fixed script. The session will cover agent architecture, the role of LLMs and feedback loops, how prompt engineering fits into a larger system, and real-world deployment pitfalls. Attendees will leave with a clearer picture of what separates a working AI agent from a demo that falls apart in production.

The format is a single main talk running from 18:50 to 20:00, preceded by refreshments from 18:00. Food is served on a first-come, first-served basis. The audience tends to be data scientists, analysts and engineers working in and around Leeds, with a mix of practitioners and people moving into the field.

Leeds Data Science Meetup is organised by Jumping Rivers and has been running regular free events in Leeds for several years. It is one of the more consistent technical communities in the city, covering R, Python, data science methodology and applied AI. The July event is hosted by Enablis at their city-centre offices on York Place, a change from the group's usual venue. The session is free, runs on a Tuesday evening, and includes food.
