Code and Coffee

Code and Coffee is a weekly informal gathering at La Bottega Milanese on Bond Court, Leeds city centre. It runs every Tuesday from 8am to 9am, giving you an hour before the working day starts to write code, talk tech, or simply drink good coffee with people who work in and around software.

There is no agenda, no talks, no structured activity. Attendees typically bring a laptop and work on whatever they feel like — a hobby project, a tutorial, something they've been meaning to get back to. The format is deliberately loose. You might end up deep in conversation about someone else's side project, or you might sit quietly and get an hour of focused work done before the office fills up. Both are fine.

The group is hosted by Matt R. and meets every Tuesday without exception. It's open to anyone: people learning to code for the first time are as welcome as engineers who've been doing it professionally for twenty years. No registration is required beyond the Meetup RSVP, and there's no cost to attend beyond whatever you order at the counter.

La Bottega Milanese is a well-regarded independent Italian coffee shop in Leeds city centre, which makes it a reasonable draw on its own. The Bond Court location is a short walk from Leeds train station and the main bus routes, so getting there early isn't much of an ask.
