Two talks on Microsoft Fabric at scale, hosted by Leeds Data Platform & Cloud on Tuesday 9 June 2026 at Infinity Works, part of Accenture, on Wellington Street.

Talk 1: Anatomy of a Successful Fabric Deployment — Lessons from the Frontline (Luke Elliott)

Building a Fabric proof of concept is straightforward enough. Getting it into production at scale, without accumulating governance debt, security rework or runaway costs, is considerably harder. Luke Elliott draws on real deployments to cover the workspace structures, governance models and security approaches that hold up over time. The session works through architecture patterns and the operating models that separate platforms still running a year later from those quietly shelved after the initial enthusiasm fades. Practical examples throughout.

Talk 2: Name Your Target! (Shelly Pashley)

Shelly Pashley demonstrates a metadata-driven approach to routing data between workspaces and data stores in Microsoft Fabric. The core idea: item name driven dynamic dissemination, where a central metadata layer determines where data lands rather than hardcoding destinations. The solution is designed to scale from small team setups to enterprise architectures, with data segregation and governance built in from the start.

The format is informal. Doors open at 17:45 for networking, drinks and pizza follow from 18:00, and the two talks run from 18:40 to 20:30 with a short break between them. The audience tends to be data engineers, analytics engineers, platform architects and anyone working with the Microsoft data stack in Yorkshire.

Leeds Data Platform & Cloud (LDPaC) has been running regular in-person meetups across the city for several years. Accenture is sponsoring and hosting this edition at their Infinity Works office. Registration is required — Accenture need a names list before the door opens, so sign up early.
