Corecom Consulting places permanent and contract IT professionals across the UK and, since 2021, Europe. Headquartered at Yorkshire House on Greek Street in Leeds city centre, they cover six broad specialisms: software development, senior IT appointments, software testing, business intelligence and data warehousing, IT architecture, and roles across London, Leeds, Manchester, York, Nottingham, Belfast and the East Riding.

For candidates, the offer is straightforward: a consultancy that will coach them through each stage of a job search, from initial briefing to offer management and interview preparation. For clients, Corecom positions itself as a partner rather than a transactional supplier, offering retained recruitment campaigns, bespoke employer brand work and digital candidate attraction strategies. Named clients include Leeds Building Society, for whom they filled 37 IT positions over four years, Yorkshire Building Society, Tunstall Healthcare UK and Leeds United FC.

They also run a salary benchmarking survey for technology professionals and host networking events under the Boss Series and TechSessions brands, which they say have built a community of around 10,000 technology professionals.

How they got here

Jonathan Sanderson founded Corecom in 2008 with an explicit aim: to change how businesses, recruitment suppliers and candidates engage with each other. The early years were modest — Sanderson hired his first employee in 2010, and the team moved to their own office in Park Square, Leeds. By 2012 they had grown to six people. A marketing function arrived in 2013 alongside the appointment of Mike Walmsley as Non-Executive Director, and the team reached ten that year.

2014 was when the networking side took shape. The Boss Series and TechSessions events launched, and the team grew to twelve. Rick Hughes joined as Sales Director in 2016, by which point headcount had reached sixteen. A Manchester office opened in 2017 in response to client demand, the same year Sanderson won Recruitment Boss of the Year.

By 2019 the team had grown to 28 and moved to independent office space. Sanderson was named Excellence in Business Award winner and reached the final of the Investors in People Leader of the Year award. In 2021, despite the disruption of the pandemic, Corecom opened a European office in Benelux, won the title of UK's Leading Recruitment Company and received the Investors in People Platinum mark — an accreditation held by roughly 2% of organisations globally.

Diversity and inclusion has been a stated priority since the beginning. Women make up 40% of the Corecom workforce. The company runs a Women in Technology programme, works with charities and educational bodies to support women and marginalised groups entering tech, and employs dedicated D&I ambassadors internally. The IIP Platinum mark is, in part, a reflection of that work.
